Arsenal offered chance to make up for Mikel Arteta mistake with Newcastle swap deal

With 21 clean sheets for the Swans, the 24-year-old won the Championship’s Golden Glove and played a major role in their successful push for the play-offs.

Freddie’s father, Andy, is the head of goalkeeping for Arsenal’s Under-23s, with close links hopefully making a deal in the future somewhat easier.

They do also hold a trump card in the shape of Joe Willock, who has enjoyed a stunning loan spell of his own with Newcastle.

Since joining in Janiary, Willock has five goals in his last five games for the Magpies and manager Steve Bruce has already admitted he is desperate to bring him back to St. James’ Park next season.
