Arsenal have joined the race to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti, according to reports in Italy.

A busy summer is expected at the Emirates with Mikel Arteta eager to make up to five major signings before the start of the 2021-22 season.

A striker could be among the manager’s targets with the Gunners among the clubs interested in signing Italy international Belotti, according to Tuttosport.

The 27-year-old has one year left on his contract with Torino now ready to cash in on him this summer, setting their asking price at €34m (£29m).

AC Milan, Fiorentina, Napoli and Jose Mourinho’s Roma are also said to be interested in signing the striker.

Arsenal have previously been interested in signing Belotti and saw a £56m bid rejected by Torino back in 2017 – before moving onto sign Alexandre Lacazette.

‘We received and refused a €65m (£56m) offer from Arsenal for Andrea Belotti, but it does not reflect the value of the player,’ Torino’s former sporting director Gianluca Petrachi claimed at the time.

Arsenal are prepared to sell a number of first-team players as part of Arteta’s shake-up this summer with Lacazette reportedly among them.

While he finished as the club’s top scorer last season, the Frenchman is not currently tied down to a long-term deal with his current contract set to expire next summer.
