Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta explains dressing room viewpoint on Bukayo Saka

“He’s a great example to any young player to play with that commitment, that passion but as well, with that courage you need when you play for a big team.”

Saka appeared to suffer an ankle injury in the 1-0 win over Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Tuesday.

But Arteta is hopeful he’ll be available for the match against West Brom, saying: “I hope he’s available.

“We will see with training today. He’s played a lot of minutes as well. I am confident that he will be OK for the game.”

With Arsenal winning their last two matches, Arteta feels the Gunners have reasons to be optimistic heading into the New Year.
