Celtic endured a frustrating night against Rennes, while Rangers celebrated the life of former captain Fernando Ricksen with victory over Feyenoord.

Further afield there was a surprise win for CFR Cluj against Lazio, while Wolfsberger and Slovan Bratislava showed their quality with impressive victories.
