Apex Legends datamine suggests full-fledged Titanfall crossover event

Apex Legends and Titanfall have always been connected but could we finally be getting an actual crossover?

With both Apex Legends and Titanfall coming from developer Respawn, it’s not at all surprising to see elements of the latter make appearances in the former.

Apex Legends has incorporated not just some of Titanfall’s weapons, but the two games have been established as taking place in the same universe.

Fans have wanted to see even more of Titanfall be brought into the battle royale title, like the wall-running feature, but Respawn appears to be treating them as separate entities.

The studio did try including Titans as a game mechanic in the past but ultimately scrapped it. But now it’s believed that we could be seeing the Titans make an appearance in a different way.

This comes from a recent datamine of the game’s files, courtesy of That1MiningGuy, who has been a regular source of Apex Legends info in the past.

According to his findings, there are labels for several Titanfall characters: Spectre, Stalker, Frag Drone, and Titan. All of them are also accompanied with an ‘outlands’ tag; the Outlands being the setting of Apex Legends.

The first three are all enemy types from the Titanfall games, which could suggest that there will be a new event where players will have to fight against them. If that’s the case, then that would mean that the Titans will serve as an enemy too.

However, this is only a theory. Their inclusion in the files doesn’t necessarily confirm that they will even be used for anything.

But with there being no sign of a Titanfall 3, a Titanfall-centric event could help drum up interest for the series and make the established fans very happy.

Apex Legends is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
