Chelsea ace Antonio Rudiger has revealed he’s spoken to David Alaba over his future and is on hand if the club want any information on Germany team-mates Jerome Boateng and Niklas Sule ahead of the summer transfer window.

Thomas Tuchel has prioritised strengthening in defence after picking up the pieces from Frank Lampard and Bayern Munich trio Boateng, Sule and Alaba have all been linked with the Blues.

Bayern stalwarts Boateng and Alaba are both out of contract at the Allianz Arena at the end of the campaign while Sule has been in and out of Hansi Flick’s starting XI this season, with Chelsea reportedly in talks with the centre-back’s representatives.

Asked about the rumours surrounding the three Bayern stars, Rudiger – who helped lure Timo Werner and Kai Havertz to Stamford Bridge – told Bild’s Christian Falk: ‘If Chelsea were to decide on one of the three players as a transfer target, I would be available to answer any questions.

‘I know Jerome and Niklas very well and I’ve already had contact with David Alaba.’

Rudiger has been impressed by Tuchel’s start at Stamford Bridge and labelled his fellow countryman a ‘tactical fox’ due to his meticulous eye for detail.

‘Anyone who knows Tuchel, knows that he’s a man who leaves nothing to a coincidence,’ the Chelsea and Germany defender added.

‘He works in great detail, Tuchel is a tactical fox.’

Alaba confirmed this week that this year would be his last at Bayern, with the Austrian’s agent in talks with several clubs over a possible free transfer.

It’s understood Real Madrid are at the front of the queue for Alaba’s signature but the versatile 28-year-old remains open to ideas as he looks for a fresh challenge away from Germany.

‘I have decided to do something new. It wasn’t an easy decision,’ the nine-time Bundesliga winner said at a press conference on Tuesday.

‘I have not yet made the decision where to go. I have personally decided to see something new, to look for a new challenge. That certainly took its time.’

‘It’s no secret that my agent is negotiating with other teams. I am looking for a new challenge to develop myself as a person on and off the pitch.

‘Where can I continue to play football successfully? That will certainly be important in my decision.’

And while Bayern are resigned to losing both Alaba and Boateng, Flick appears keen to keep hold of Sule and brushed off rumours linking the centre-half with Chelsea earlier this month.

‘It is of course also nice for us when other clubs are interested in our players,’ the Bayern manager told reporters when pressed on the speculation surrounding Sule.

‘At the moment, the defence is doing very well and Niklas is definitely an option, both in central defence and as a full-back.’
