Griezmann was brought off the bench and got an equaliser against AC Milan, his first goal since rejoining from Barcelona. A late Luis Suarez penalty secured the win in Italy
Antoine Griezmann is back in form on the field and is also in form off it.
The France star bagged his first Atletico Madrid goal since returning to the club in their comeback win over AC Milan at San Siro on Tuesday night.
After being brought off the bench, the World Cup winner found an 84th minute equaliser for Diego Simeone’s men, finding the bottom corner of the net. Luis Suarez would score a 96th minute winner from the penalty spot.
And thanks to one of his other sporting passions, Griezmann – who returned to Atletico from Barcelona in a shock transfer – was already riding the crest of a wave.

Griezmann is an enthusiastic owner of racehorses and Txope gave him victory in the Listed Ursula Rosendahl-Preis in Cologne on Sunday.
Competing at a good level in the sport, such a performance would have been expected from the filly, as she cost €310,000 at the sales.
Before he took to the pitch this week, Griezmann retweeted a clip of the Philippe Découz-trained youngster sprinting clear of her rivals, having moved strongly into contention.
First prize in the German race was £10,714.29, a very small amount compared to the World Cup winner’s annual salary.
Griezmann, 30, rejoined Atlético Madrid on a season’s loan with an option for the transfer to become permanent for £34.4million.
His much-needed goal was followed by Suarez’s late spot-kick – giving the Spanish champions victory in their second group game of this season’s Champions League.
Diego Simeone spoke about his side, and Griezmann’s performance, post-game, stating:
“I think of the players and what we have is a good squad. We still don’t have continuity. We have tried everything, but we have to find the best that we can do as a team.
“Firstly, they (the players) have to know that they can decide it with their time on the pitch.
“I am happy with his (Griezmann’s) goal. We need more from him and he knows that we are going to demand it.”
Atletico Madrid sit fourth in La Liga, level on points with third-placed Sevilla and three behind the leaders Real Madrid.
Griezmann had a dream of running one of his other horses, Natsukashi, in Sunday’s feature race, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.
But after her impressive racecourse debut, she did not reach the level required.
Last in the Group 1 Prix de Diane Longines in June, won by the Aidan O’Brien-trained Joan Of Arc, she then finished sixth in a Group 2 at the Arc venue.
O’Brien has a leading contender for the weekend contest in the shape of Snowfall, 5-1 joint third favourite with Paddy Power.
Cazoo Derby hero Adayar and globetrotter Tarnawa head the firm’s market at 5-2.
