The 49-year-old is standing in for Simon, 61, as head judge on Britain’s Got Talent after the music mogul broke parts of his back in August in an electric bike accident at his home in Malibu.
Diversity’s Ashley Banjo has been filling the judge’s spot joining David Walliams and Alisha Dixon but Amanda has the casting vote.
Despite the promotion she can’t wait for his return although it looks unlikely this year given the final is this Saturday.
But she admitted: “Oh my God, I miss him so much.
“Ashley is doing the most phenomenal job and is so bright and witty and clever and just brilliant.
“But Simon is so naughty. That’s what I miss. I miss having my pigtails pulled and being poked because that’s what he does. He just winds us up and I just miss him for that.
“I just badly want him to get back and be well again. But there couldn’t be a better choice than Ashley sitting in that seat. It’s amazing.”
The Britain’s Got Talent final is this Saturday, STV at 7.30pm.
