Alex Telles drops major hint that he is bound for Man Utd transfer

Alex Telles has fuelled rumours that he is close to sealing a move to Manchester United after he ‘liked’ an Instagram post by Patrice Evra with reference to the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.

The 27-year-old Porto left-back has been touted with a transfer to join the Red Devils over the past few weeks, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer known to be keen to strengthen the position.

It has been reported that the Brazilian has agreed personal terms with the club, although United have not yet managed to negotiate a fee with Porto, who are currently holding out for around £18.3m.

It seems clear that Telles is keen on the move, however, judging by his activity on social media.

Former United defender Patrice Evra took to Instagram on Thursday to post a picture of himself with his ex-manager Ferguson, recounting a story in which the Scottish manager’s criticism of him led to him finishing a game as Man of the Match.

The post was ‘liked’ by Telles, and his activity did not go unnoticed by supporters of United.

One responded: “We see you Alex Telles”, along with a pair of eyes emoji, while another said: “Man Utd target Alex Telles likes Patrice Evra post. Here we go!”

United have so far signed just one player this summer, with Donny van de Beek coming in from Ajax for a £40m fee, and fans are getting frustrated with their lack of activity.

Telles would add strength in depth to the left-back position

The club are known to still be targeting a new centre-back, winger and striker, as well as left-back, but time is running out for them to get any deals done before the window slams shut on October 5.

Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is still known to be their No.1 target, and it is believed they will table a £90million take-it-or-leave-it bid for the England international next week.
