Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria Baldwin shared a kiss under the mistletoe as the actor tries to move on from the Rust tragedy which left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead.
Hilaria, 37, posted a snap to Instagram on Monday of her kissing her 63-year-old husband. She captioned the post: “Tis the season,” and included an emoji of a Christmas tree.
Alec is seen with his face mask pulled down to give the mum-of-six a kiss for the camera.
The duo deleted their Twitter accounts following Alec’s emotional first sit-down interview with ABC News following the accidental shooting on the set of Rust.
The actor was holding the gun that discharged and killed Hutchins, 42, and injured director Joel Souza on the set of the Western movie.
An investigation into the incident is still on-going.
During his interview, which aired on ABC News on Thursday, Alec told George Stephanopoulos he never pulled the trigger on the weapon and insisted he just cocked it and “let go of the hammer” when it fired.
He revealed that he is constantly dreaming about the day of the shooting and said images of guns “keep me awake at night”.
He said: “I’ve been struggling physically. I’m exhausted from this because I gotta try to be there for my kids. My family is all I have. Honest to God, I couldn’t give a s*** about my career anymore.”
The reporter went on to ask Alec if he felt guilt following the incident.
He replied: “No. Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me. I mean, honest to God, if I felt that I was responsible, I might have killed myself if I thought I was responsible. I don’t say that lightly.”
Shortly after the interview aired, Hilaria wrote a lengthy note to her husband on social media saying how she had been “afraid” of him opening up about the incident.
She penned: “”Our public life is one that brings great joy in connecting with amazing people and tremendous trauma when it gets dark.
“The opinions + monetization of us get loud and overwhelming. I was afraid for you to open up because I’ve seen your spirit crushed, your mental health shattered, your soul in unimaginable pain. Sometimes I wonder how much one body, one mind can take. I don’t want to lose you.”
She added: “We honor Halyna and her family. To hopefully figure out how this happened and whatever we can do to make sure it never happens again.
“My Alec, I am here to heal any of your pain that I can. I am not going anywhere. Onward to being Alec and Hilaria, messy, emotions strong, but lots and lots of love—until the very end.”
