NUTELLA fans are in luck, because Aldi has brought back giant jars of the hazelnut spread for a bargain price.
The family size jars of the popular hazelnut spread weigh in a whopping 1kg, and they only set you back £3.99.
They’re available in Aldi stores only and not online. You can find your nearest shop using the store locator tool.
It’s the cheapest price we’ve found right now, although Lidl is also selling the giant jars for £3.99, according to comparison website Mysupermarket.co.uk.
The Sun’s asked Lidl to confirm the offer, but we haven’t yet heard back so it’s best to double-check with your local store before making the trip.
All the “Big Four” supermarkets – Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco – are selling the 1kg jars for £5.70, meaning you’ll save £1.71 by shopping at Aldi.
Remember, the price is only a good deal if you actually eat a lot of Nutella.
If you don’t, you’re better off buying a smaller jar of 200g, which currently costs £1.70 at most supermarkets.
Or even better, if you’re not fussed about the actual brand, Asda sells its own hazelnut spread for only 80p for 400g.
Nutella was created by the Ferrero family in the 1940s and it’s sold in 160 countries.
The price of Nutella has stirred emotions for a few years, and last year was not an exception.
In January, discounted Nutella jars caused riots after a French supermarket chain slashed the cost by 70 per cent.
The spread has also actually attracted haters over the years because of its unhealthy contents – sugar equates to over 56 per cent of the whole jar.
