Accountancy firm promotes four Scottish partners

Accountancy firm Azets has appointed four Scottish partners to senior leadership roles.

Chris Horne has been promoted from managing partner to deputy chief executive, supporting chief executive Dawn Marriott.

The duo will focus on expanding and developing the business across Europe and the UK.

Horne was in charge across Scotland and Northern England when the firm acquired six independent firms in Scotland as Campbell Dallas. It was rebranded in September 2020 to Azets.

Peter Gallanagh has been promoted to chief executive for Scotland and the North

Peter Gallanagh has been promoted to chief executive for Scotland and the North, from his previous position of regional managing partner for Azets in Glasgow, where he worked closely with Horne on the expansion plans.

He advises a wide range of owner managed businesses and is a specialist in the aquaculture, construction, and pharmacy sectors.

Greig McKnight has been made the new regional managing partner of Azets Glasgow office, with Bernadette Higgins replacing him as head of external audit in Scotland.

She has experience leading the external audits for a portfolio of commercial, engineering and large public sector clients.

Chief executive Dawn Marriott said: “On behalf of the business I would like to congratulate Chris, Peter, Greig and Bernadette on their promotions – they bring considerable experience in the development of a fast-growing accountancy firm and will play a key role as we expand Azets both internationally and across the UK.”

Azets is an international accounting, tax, audit, advisory and business services group with 160 offices across the UK and Europe. It has more than 6,500 employees and 600 partners.
