10 abducted Kaduna LG staff freed, bandits collect N40m, demand motorbikes for victims

Abductors have released 10 of the 13 abducted workers of Zaria Local Government of the Kaduna State after payment of N40m as ransom.

A relation of one of the victims released on Saturday disclosed this just as the Kaduna State Police Command confirmed the release of 10 of the 13 abducted workers on Sunday.

The command’s spokesman, Mohammed Jalige, said the abducted local government workers were released on Saturday.

According to him, operatives of the command had intensified efforts to ensure the release of the remaining workers unhurt.

The relation of one of the victims released, also disclosed that the kidnappers promised to release the remaining three abductees if three motorcycles were made available to them.

Meanwhile, the 10 freed workers were yet to be reunited with their families.
